This year our Summer edition presents an open-air screening of Lithuanian queer drama THE LAWYER (lit. ADVOKATAS) by the director Romas Zabarauskas. The event will take place on July 22nd at 9:30 pm at Freiluftkino Pompeji, after the screening we invite you to stay for a live Q&A session with the director.

Romas Zabarauskas is considered a pioneer and activist of the LGTBQ + community in Lithuania and has been exploring queer issues in his films since coming out. THE LAWYER is his third feature film which had its German premiere at the Cottbus Film Festival last year.

About the film: Life drifts by for gay corporate lawyer Marius, his time spent teasing friends and chasing young lovers. One day, Marius’ estranged father dies. Mourning turns to love as the lawyer finds an unanticipated connection with a sex-cam worker Ali – a Syrian refugee stuck in Belgrade.

11th edition of LITAUISCHES KINO GOES BERLIN will take place November 3–7, 2021.
