The audience of the 10th Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin film festival decided that the winner of this year’s Short Film Competition is the animation “Matilda and the Spare Head” by Ignas Meilūnas, produced by Marija Razgutė from M-films.
The director receives a two-week residence in Nida Art Colony / Nidos meno kolonija as well as marketing and communication services by Mata Hari Comm for his next film.
The stop-motion short film is about a girl, Matilda, who wants to be the smartest person in the world. When all the things she’s learned can no longer fit in just one head, her mother buys her a backup one.
The film premiered this year at Annecy International Animation Film Festival and has been travelling to international festivals around the world since.
